Adulthood Playtime

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

As little humans, playtime is the focus of the day. It could be a playdate with your best friend or recess at school. It is not structured or is an organized function to burn off energy and learn to socialize with other little humans. As adults, the demands of adulthood sideline playtime with responsibilities of food and shelter. Playtime is redefined as vacation and PTO for a week or a few weeks out of the year. It’s your new focus from every day to every year. I think you should something, every day that isn’t an adult responsibility.

Playtime has many definitions in adulthood. It could be hanging out with friends, participating in a sport, or a hobby. A day at the spa or getting your nails done. Online browsing your favorite shop. Writing, journaling, painting, gardening, chatting with neighbors, or finding a group to join. Some take vacations or escape the city life for camping in nature.

It all goes from playtime to what do you do to relax?
