The Lazy Side of Snowbirding | #RV LIFE

Which do you prefer: staying in one place or traveling around?

Sorry so late on my posting. I forgot it was Sunday a few times. We haven’t been doing much. I am being sort of lazy. There are a few chores I need to get done: laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Well, I have done none of those this past week. Sunday, I had no choice. I had to go shopping. I still need to do the laundry. Eh, tomorrow.

So that leads me to this post: Which do you prefer, traveling or stationary? I think I like traveling. I am active and consistent when we travel. I have to be. I’m not traveling; I don’t have that must-do attitude.

When I came home from grocery shopping, I struggled to put things away. The cupboards are full! We should be good for at least a month. it is never this packed. I guess I have a fear of running out of food? The grocery store is not around the corner. Technically, I have to go to another state. I’ll go with that as my excuse.

I did go shopping a few days ago, but somehow, I forgot to buy staple items. When traveling around, I shop once a week and purchase enough for that week. The staple items are routine.  I forgot to buy soda. It is part of weekly shopping. We eat potatoes several times weekly, but I forgot to buy a bag. I thought we had enough; nope, we had two left. I think my brain went to sleep.

Then, stuff is not put away in their “travel spots,” making the motorhome messy. I picked up a few items at my son’s house that don’t come when we travel. There were a couple of crafty projects I wanted to do this winter. It’s all stored in our van. Having the van is kind of nice. We don’t have to disconnect everything and drive the motorhome all over. I don’t have space for my Cricut and my craft supplies. I haven’t even done any of my projects, either. UGH!

All of that will go back into storage in the spring. I will have to do a lot of organizing before we go back on the road. That could be a good thing.

I have no issues doing laundry. I’ve been putting it off for a few days. Now we are out of certain clothing items, I have to get the laundry done. Lazy was the theme last week. We are out of our routine

When we start back to full-time travel, we’ll feel like newbies all over again. HA! But that is the excitement of going back on the road. I don’t want to get burned out on traveling—one factor for staying stationary for the winter.

2. Weather. The weather dictates a lot of your travel when you live full-time. Well, for most people. Some love to camp in the snow. We don’t. I don’t do snow. I’m a desert rat. I’ve never had to learn how to live in harsh winters. At my age now, I am not interested in learning.

3. Money. We need a new toilet, kitchen faucet, and fix the heater. Not traveling around, we are saving on gas and camp fees. They are the two most expensive costs in this lifestyle.

The weather was perfect for a few days, but this past weekend, it was windy! Rocking the motorhome windy. I just binge-watched old episodes of Project Runway. Wolf watched videos on his phone. We both have allergies and when the wind kicks up, we sneeze and blow our noses.

I feel bad for the dogs when it’s windy. They don’t get their long walks. It’s hard to see where I’m going with dust blowing in my eyes. Poor little Nala Bear and Lightning are small and low to the ground. Sometimes I think the wind will blow them over. Sasha, she doesn’t care, ” Where’s my ball?” It is her only concern.

Sasha. Life with a German Shepard.

Most days we spend a lot of time outside. The little ones are in their buggy and then we go for walks several times a day. With the wind not so much. Thankful for my large windows we don’t feel so boxed in.

At least there is sunshine.

Thanks for stopping by for a read. I appreciate you! Again, sorry I didn’t make it yesterday. I might change to posting on Monday. Subscribe to get notified each week.

Have a great week! 😀
