RV LIFE FULL-TIME

Is it Forever?

Recently, there was a lot of buzz online about quitting RV life and purchasing a home base. That made me wonder: Do you think if you decide to do the RV life full-time, that it will be forever? For every five that stop, ten more start. The allure of full-time travel is not going away. People have been doing this lifestyle for years. Covid made it trendy.

I can’t count how many people I have encountered over the years who sold their homes, purchased an RV, and traveled the country to find a new place to set down roots. What better way to make a significant move than to stay in an area of interest and find out if it’s right for you. You’re not stuck with a lease or a mortgage after you realize where you thought you would call home just didn’t work out. That is the beauty of RV life; now, you can move on and look at other options. RV life provides opportunities when it comes to calling a place home. Everywhere is home when it comes to the RV life.

Eventually, it is okay to be done with traveling and finding a new place to call home or returning to your home base if you were fortunate enough to keep it. Deciding to live the lifestyle is not the end of where you will live for the rest of your life. Take the risk, explore your imagined life, and experience new things. The memories you make will be with you always.

We all reach a point where it gets more complicated to set up, tear down, drive to a new place, or plan a new place. You’ve seen it all if you hang with the lifestyle long enough.

Several YouTubers I watch have now started international travel. A few mix it up and do both. Personally, I do not have an interest in international travel. There are too many places in the US I want to see. And that’s okay, too; traveling full-time doesn’t mean you have to do what everyone else does. Do your own thing that makes you comfortable.

So, to wrap it up. What do you do when you are ready to stop traveling? You could purchase another house or a condo or settle into an apartment. You could purchase land and build your retirement home. But you could also purchase an RV lot or live stationary in an RV park. Every KOA and RV park we stay at has full-time residents. We lived in an RV park for three years before we moved to a mobile home park. If you decide on a mobile home park and have a camper van or a motorhome, you might need to get a travel trailer.

Thanks for stopping by for a read. I appreciate you. Have a great week!
