When the final decision was made to travel full-time we didn’t have a motorhome. We had our pop-up tent trailer, but no vehicle to pull it. We did have our Dodge Caravan. At this point, I was done waiting. I wanted to get on the road by April fifteenth.
Utilize what you have to get out there and live the life you want.
We had started to kit out the Caravan; Beds to sleep on that folded into chairs during the day. A one burner butane stove for cooking and heating water for coffee. There are a few bits and bops we use on a daily basis. Of course, our dogs will be along for the ride. We knew this was going to be a cramped life and probably very miserable at times. But we were determined to make it work.
I didn’t give up on finding a motorhome. Companies may have felt I wasn’t worthy to do business with but in my normal “I will find a way” attitude. I didn’t give up the search.
Then it happened.
It was a Friday, March twenty-third. While enjoying my morning coffee, I opened my laptop and checked the rvs for sale site.

There she was. Our Daisy. A 1999 Lazy Daze 26.5 motorhome. The price was in my doable budget. However, she was in Lake Havasu, AZ, only a couple hours from Las Vegas. This was our motorhome. I knew from that second.
We hopped in our van and headed to Lake Havasu.
We fell in love, and she had everything we wanted in a motorhome. Well, of course, I put down the deposit and said I’d be back on Tuesday. I knew she wouldn’t last the weekend. She has some miles at 145k. A Ford E450 engine is good for a couple hundred thousand miles. She runs well. There have been three previous owners, from what I can tell. It’s pretty much still in the original condition. Velour EVERYWHERE!
